Tip of the hat to Boomtown Rats.

16. Here are some of Calvin & Hobbes cartoonist Bill Watterson’s work prior to his signature strip. It’s too bad he has retired.

15. Oh, it is sad and pathetic how much I enjoy this site of funny typos. Or is it typoes?

14. This is quite possibly the most amazing live performance ever. Even if you aren’t a Queen fan, this segment of Freddy Mercury leading the crowd starting at 0:14 in an “Under Pressure”-esque sequence of babbles should forever be categorized under “Rock God” commanding presence.

13. You can see how things get lost in translation when ordering cakes.

12. If you haven’t already seen this clip of the lyre bird‘s complex singing, you really must.

11. Another BBC bird. The title is irresistible: “You are being shagged by a rare parrot.”

10. OK, only because we love animals. BBC has opened an “online zoo.”

9. What cats are really thinking.

8. The T-Mobile flash mob commercial, always a feel-good for me.

7. Real, not photoshopped, images that are almost unbelievable.

6. A list of secrets known by only two people.

5. A listing of the unique origins of 25 popular consumer products, like bubble gum, silly putty, and of course, the ubiquitous post-its.

4. Balance act parlor tricks. File this one under: things to try with friends when you need a challenge.

3. Ah, the music video of “I Don’t Like Mondays.”

2. I admire the “100 Things” movement, where people try to minimize the number of “things” in their lives. This is taking it to an extreme–living without money.

1. And finally, here is your zen moment of peace. Beautiful photography showing lush landscapes with water reflections.

May you have a wonderful, peaceful, reflective week.
